South Korean Myongji Hospital Uses Blockchain for Medical Information Services

The hospital releases official news regarding this medical service using blockchain tech on November 12. Myongji Hospital which belongs to the city of Goyang at South Korea signs agreement- Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BICube.  Moreover, this is a Korean IT firm creating a market as a machine learning platform.

Both the parties are preparing to use blockchain technology for developing a healthcare information exchange platform. The release mentions the aim of this project is to “design a hybrid cloud [platform] connecting a public cloud with private cloud.”

This new hybrid cloud feature will enable patients to share their sensitive medical data. Moreover, they can share it with other medical organizations authority. Also, without any data risks of storing centrally. According to the release, both the parties are deciding to commercialize this new service by 2019.

Back in September 2018, the Ministry of Science and Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) and ICT collaboratively enlarges their public blockchain pilot program. Moreover, expanding 6 to 12 projects with an expenditure of around $9 million.

Also, they are targeting viral blockchain in every public and the private sector. Every industry is looking forward to enhancing the blockchain technology to make the work and globe seamlessly.
