72-year-old woman killed in a hit-and-run in Queens

A woman was killed and another injured when a hit-and-run driver slammed into their car early Tuesday in Queens, police said.

An unidentified 56-year-old woman was driving a red Honda CRV on 126 Street in South Ozone Park at around 1:15 a.m. when a gray Lexus SUV blew through a red light at 111 Avenue and smashed in to the Honda’s passenger side, police said.

The impact sent the Honda flying in to the facade of Elegant Floral Design, police said.

The unidentified 72-year-old passenger was killed, and the Honda driver was taken to Jamaica Hospital, according to police.

The Lexus driver ran from the scene of the accident, cops said.
