Cristiano Ronaldo faces fresh court proceedings from his sexual assault accuser after a dramatic ruling.
Kathryn Mayorga, 36, claims she was not mentally fit when she took £290,000 from the Juventus striker in a 2010 non-disclosure agreement.
Ms Mayorga is now set to appear before a Las Vegas court following a ruling by US district judge Jennifer Dorsey.
She claims Ronaldo sexually assaulted her in a Las Vegas hotel penthouse in 2009, which the 35-year-old has repeatedly denied.
Ms Mayorga now wants to pursue a new civil claim against him for £165,000 in damages, The Sun reports.
Judge Jennifer Dorsey ruled: "I find that Mayorga’s challenge that she lacked the mental capacity to assent to the settlement agreement is not arbitrable…
"Mayorga did not comply with the correct procedure to request a jury trial of the mental-capacity issue, so I direct the parties to prepare to adjudicate it in a bench trial.
"Because the proper venue for resolving Mayorga’s claims on their merits hinges on the mental-capacity issue, I deny without prejudice Ronaldo’s motion to dismiss them."
If Ms Mayorga is successful, Ronaldo may be called upon to give evidence in open court, the Daily Mirror reports.
Both legal teams were given until November 30 to prepare themselves.
After Ms Mayorga filed her case, Ronaldo posted a video online saying: “Fake, fake news. They want to promote by my name. They want to be famous.”

He said in a statement: “I firmly deny the accusations. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything I am.”
In 2018, Ms Mayorga named Ronaldo and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reopened their investigation.
Following their investigation no charges were brought against him and the Police closed their case.
Pictures later emerged of the pair dancing in the VIP area of Rain nightclub – inside the glamorous Palms Casino Resort – where then 25-year-old Ms Mayorga worked.

After going back to his penthouse suite, Ms Mayorga claims Ronaldo walked in on her changing and exposed himself.
He allegedly asked her to perform a sex act.
Ms Mayorga refused but kissed him on the condition he would let her go, she claims.
