The body responsible for approving the coronavirus vaccine in the European Union says it has been targeted by a cyber attack.
The European Medicines Agency posted a short statement on its website earlier saying it had been made aware of a cyber attack. It’s not clear if it has since been resolved or whether it could affect the approval process for the vaccine.
The statement said: ‘EMA has been the subject of a cyberattack. The agency has swiftly launched a full investigation, in close cooperation with law enforcement and other relevant entities.
‘EMA cannot provide additional details whilst the investigation is ongoing. Further information will be made available in due course.’
