Additionally, he was recently cast as one of the leads of the new Netflix series Neon, where he also serves as a consulting producer. The comedy created by Shea Serrano (Primo), which follows three small-town Florida friends as they look to make it in Miami’s world of reggaeton, debuts October 19th. Mendoza can also be seen starring in Netflix’s limited series Kaleidoscope, a heist drama from Eric Garcia and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free, which premiered at top of year.

Mendoza appeared opposite Jennifer Lawrence in this summer’s R-rated sex comedy No Hard Feelings from filmmaker Gene Stupnitsky and Sony, and will also be seen coming up in the comedy The Treasure of Foggy Mountain from the SNL writer-performer trio Please Don’t Destroy, which debuts on Peacock November 17th, as well as Julio Torres’ A24 comedy Problemista, which moved off of its August release date amidst the SAG-AFTRA strike, and has not yet gotten a new slot, having launched this spring at SXSW.

Past writing credits for Mendoza include Big Mouth, Human Resources, Beavis and Butt-Head, and Ziwe, where he co-wrote the show’s hit song, “Stop Being Poor.” The Filipino-American multi-hyphenate, who got his start in the New York comedy scene and the Comedy Central creators’ program, was awarded the New Face recognition at the Just For Laughs festival in 2022. He continues to be represented by Avalon Management and Marcie Cleary at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.
