Bizarre moment NYC subway rider pummels passenger for falling asleep on him before sparking wild brawl with another rider

• A passenger delivered three elbow blows to the face of another ride aboard a New York City subway car

• The incident descended into an all out brawl when a man came to the defense of the victim and punched the attacker 

A video showing a New York City subway brawl this week has once again gone viral.

The wild footage shows an angry man berating another male passenger because he had fallen asleep on his shoulder.

‘You are sleeping and I am not your f****** pillow, darn it,’ the man shouted in Spanish.

He continued to lose his patience with the individual and told him he was better off switching seats so he could sit next to another rider who was sleeping too. 

‘I am not your f****** pillow. If you want to sleep, sleep by his side since you are both sleeping,’ he said while pointing at an individual who was sitting across from them.

The man kept warning the passenger next to him that he was not his ‘f****** pillow.’

‘Do you understand? Do you understand? I am not your f****** pillow,’ he shouted.

The passenger made a comment about his mother, causing the man to respond by elbowing him three times – while other customers sitting around them swiftly got up and ran down the subway car.

‘Now what are you going to do?’ the attacker said while staring him down for a second before the man he had previously pointed at stood up and punched him in the face.

The men exchanged punches and grabbed each other for nearly 30 seconds, stopping only once the train pulled in at a station.

An NYPD spokesperson told DailyMail.com that they ‘are aware of the video and are looking into the circumstances of the incident.’

Fellow New York City subway riders on social media were shocked by the passenger’s violent response.

One person recalled being on a train and dealing with a passenger who kept falling asleep on his shoulder while he was reading a book.

‘I gave him a little shake and laughed it off with him,’ he wrote. ‘Dude said sorry and that he’s had a long day.’

Another social media user understood the rider’s frustration, but said his reaction was uncalled for.

‘But who in their right mind thinks throwing elbows is the right response?’
