Wife’s horror after finding bigamist husband had secret life with another woman
A bigamist husband lived a secret life 100 miles away from his first wife with his new second bride.
Yve Gibney discovered her husband Maurice was married to someone else when she saw a wedding day image on Facebook, Birmingham Live reports.
The wealthy oil boss had been juggling his time between two women – Yve in the Wirral, north-west England, and teacher Suzanne Prudhoe, 100 miles away in Stourbridge, West Midlands.
Both were blissfully unaware of the other's existence and now Yve is writing a tell-all book about her experience, titled Face of a Bigamist.
Maurice received a six month suspended sentence for his crime in 2014.
The 60-year-old said: "The overwhelming emotion is one of absolutely betrayal. It's not just an affair.
"Marriage is a declaration of love and commitment. When you believe you’re in a contented relationship it’s not something you can ever contemplate.
"I was a victim of bigamy and I was emotionally scarred, but it doesn’t define me and I chose not to stay a victim.
"The best thing that came out of this, is that I and my sons are free of him."
The love rat spent £45,000 on a lavish wedding to his second wife in Oman where he was working.
Nurse Yve and Maurice met while they were both working in Nigeria and married after a whirlwind three-month romance.
The couple spent long periods of time apart during their marriage due to their jet-setting careers, but were in the middle of getting divorced when the true depths of Maurice's deception were revealed.

Yve said: "With hindsight, for us to have lived apart we had to have a tremendous amount of trust.
"It wasn’t the traditional marriage, but for us, it worked. I trusted him and loved him unconditionally and I felt that he loved me back in the same way.
"His trips home became shorter and more infrequent which he put down to the pressures of work."

Maurice met teacher Suzanne in September 2011. They were engaged eight months later and married in March 2013.
Describing finding the wedding photos on Facebook, Yve said: "I was looking at some of his family’s Facebook pages and I saw his sister wearing a fascinator (wedding hat) and his other sister all dressed up in wedding attire.
"I had this bizarre gut feeling that my husband had married someone else, but my friend said: 'Don’t be ridiculous'. But I couldn’t shake that feeling.
"His new family were completely unaware of my existence, he had told them we were divorced for several years and had kept it a secret to protect our son.
"In hindsight it now all makes sense. The duplicity still stings, however."
Maurice and Suzanne are still together and married.
