Nurse who held hands of dying Covid patients dies after struggling with pandemic
A nurse who held the hands of dying coronavirus patients has died at the age of just 26, her family said.
Frontline NHS nurse Trisha Roberts, died on Wednesday February 24, WalesOnline reports.
She was said to be struggling with her mental health and the pressures of the pandemic in the months leading up to her death.
Tammy Lou, her heartbroken sister, described the nurse as a "very determined and hard worker" who would "aways be there to help in any way."
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Trisha's family with the cost of a funeral, and Tammy said she often told them with "tear-filled eyes" about sick coronavirus patients.
Tammy Lou wrote on GoFundMe: "She often told us with tear-filled eyes that she held the hands of these who unfortunately succumbed to the Covid virus and was often the last person they saw.
"Her death has come as a great shock to the family as well as her friends and colleagues."
She added: "Regardless of how many times you met her, she left a lasting impression. She was a bubbly, energetic, enthusiastic person and had a loving personality.

According to Tammy Lou, Trisha was due to marry her partner, who "loved her very much," in New York as soon as travel restrictions lifted.

She called her sister a "hero" to the NHS, and asked for donations but said "don't worry" if you "can't afford to donate" as she wouldn't want anyone to struggle.
