Your chance to say whether fireworks should be banned from public sale
We’re calling on you to tell us how you feel about fireworks being banned from public sale ahead of Bonfire Night 2021 by answering a short poll question.
With Guy Fawkes Night on the near horizon only next week, our sister site for pet parents and dog lovers, TeamDogs, want to hear your opinion about fireworks.
Every year from October 15 to November 10, the UK public are able to buy fireworks for private use from registered sellers, in celebration of ‘Fireworks Night’, with the usual ban on setting them off between 11pm and 7am is also lifted on Friday, November 5.
As a result, displays often take place in gardens, homes and other private spaces across this lengthy time period, and especially on Bonfire Weekend – much to the detriment of dogs and other pets or wildlife, who can experience significant distress or even a fatal heart attack due to the loud and frightening noises.
Fill in the short survey below to have your say about whether or not fireworks should be banned for public sale in the UK.
Yet, despite ongoing calls to ban fireworks, they remain on public sale throughout the UK.
TeamDogs has launched a fireworks campaign called ‘Toffee’s Appeal’, with the hashtag #BeMoreToffee, calling for people to donate dog food to their local shelter instead of buying fireworks.
They think it’s time for some real change. Do you?
