THE body of a missing teen was on Tuesday found in a remote grave two weeks after she was kidnapped from a Walmart parking lot.

Naomi Irion, 18, was last seen early morning on March 12 in her car in Fernley, Nevada, a city about 30 miles east of Reno.

Security video showed a masked man wearing a hooded sweatshirt get into her car before her chilling disappearance and death.

Here The Sun looks at events surrounding her death and the timeline surrounding the case.

Irion was one of seven siblings, including three boys between the ages of 8 and 13 who were adopted from Ukraine three years ago.

She graduated from high school in Pretoria, South Africa, where her stepfather is a diplomat and her mother is a teacher.

After she graduated last year, she moved to Fernley, Nevada, to live with her older brother Casey Valley, a Navy veteran.

Naomi was last seen in her car at around 5.25am on March 12.

ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Her older brother, Casey Valley, said his sister usually caught a bus from the Walmart lot to work at a Reno-area Panasonic facility.

Naomi was scrolling social media in her car while waiting for the shuttle to show up when she was approached by the masked, hooded man.

According to Casey, who was one of the only people outside of police to see the footage in its entirety, the man did or said something that caused his sister to move to the passenger seat.

Irion reportedly sent a Snapchat at 5.24am just one minute before the suspect approached her car.

One minute later, the surveillance video shows her car leaving the Walmart parking lot.

SUDDENLY OFFLINE

Irion was waiting for a shuttle to her job at Panasonic, which normally picks her up between 5.30am and 5.40am.

The car disappeared into the early morning darkness as it fell out of the camera's reach.

Valley said she never arrived at work, and Naomi was first reported missing on March 13.

Police said evidence in her car suggests "Naomi's disappearance is criminal in nature," according to the March 15 Facebook post. 

Hundreds of volunteers have joined searches during the past two weeks, looking for clues in a vast desert area.

Irion’s vehicle was found three days after she went missing on March 15 near a paint manufacturing facility in an industrial park along Interstate 80 not far from the store.

LAST IMAGES

On March 16 police released images of the teen shopping in a store shortly before she was last seen in the parking lot.

Footage of a suspect in her disappearance was also released as was images of a Chevrolet cops believed to be connected.

A day later on March 17 police held a press conference in which Valley said: "This person did say or do something to make her move over to the driver side to the passenger side … that's what we know so far."

By March 22 Irion was added to the FBI's Most Wanted Missing Persons list and a reward of $10,000 for information to locate her was offered days later.

ARREST MADE

Police arrested Troy Driver, accusing him of first-degree kidnapping on on March 25.

Driver, of Fernley, has yet to enter a plea to the kidnapping charge. He was arraigned from jail Wednesday via Zoom.

By Wednesday, March 30 a two-page criminal complaint had been filed against him.

It claims Driver abducted Irion “on or about March 12” and “did hold or detain her for the purpose of committing sexual assault and/or purpose of killing her."

Authorities did not immediately say whether Driver will be charged in Irion’s death.

BODY FOUND

But an autopsy confirmed the body found was Irion on Wednesday, the Lyon and Churchill county sheriff’s offices said in a joint statement.

At this time, an exact cause of death has not been revealed.

It later emerged in local reports that Driver was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a 1997 murder case in Northern California.

Following the confirmation that Naomi's body had been found the sheriff’s offices said: "No further information can be released at this time as this is still an open and active investigation."

Irion's brother Casey Valley reacted to the news on social media.

"I can't believe this. I'm at a loss for words. Thanks to everyone for your support. Now comes a different kind of effort," he said.

"Naomi was taken away from us far too soon."

A court date was set for Driver next Tuesday, and a preliminary hearing April 12 to decide if there is evidence for Driver to be tried in state court.

He could face life in prison without parole if he is convicted.
