Dr. Basim Zafar on CoinGeek Backstage: We want to help Saudi innovators build on BSV blockchain
Building on the BSV blockchain has become easier over time with advanced tools now available for developers. It will become even easier for innovators in Saudi Arabia to deploy their applications on the BSV blockchain after one of the country’s leading consulting firms launched an incubator for blockchain startups. Dr. Basim Zafar, who heads the consulting firm, joined CoinGeek Backstage to talk about why he is backing BSV to become the data ledger for the future of Saudi Arabia.
Zafar is an academic and experienced executive in the technology industry. He is the chairman of Experts Vision Consulting (EVC), a Makkah Valley-based consultancy that works with leading private enterprises in Saudi Arabia and beyond as well as government entities.
EVC has its offices in Wadi Makkah or the Makkah Valley in Saudi Arabia. The firm hosts an incubator for local startups and a venture capital arm, which serve to support innovation in cutting-edge technology from artificial intelligence (AI) to the Internet of Things.
Zafar spoke to CoinGeek’s Becky Liggero after hosting a BSV delegation led by Jimmy Nguyen, founding president of the BSV Blockchain Association.
“Blockchain is coming, and we believe that it will change the world. At our office here in Makkah Valley we try to be the first in new technology. EVC is known for being the first in new technology such as AI and IoT, and we also want to be the company that brings blockchain to the Kingdom,” he told CoinGeek Backstage.
EVC partnered with the BSV Blockchain Association to launch the B Venture Studio, an incubator and accelerator for blockchain startups, focusing on BSV blockchain-based applications.
Zafar stated that his firm wants to ensure that Saudi entrepreneurs can easily deploy and scale their applications on BSV, which is “the most trusted and best technology in blockchain.”
For Saudi Arabia, the focus is mainly on achieving the Saudi Vision 2030, and Zafar believes that blockchain will play a big role in this.
“Blockchain can bring a lot of trust and transparency, especially in contracts in the public sector, construction, real estate and others. The use of blockchain in the Kingdom will start this year,” he projected.
