Locals triumph as ‘prostitution flat with people going at it in alleyway’ shut
Residents living next door to a flat being used by prostitutes and their clients can finally get some peace and quiet after a closure order was issued on the noisy property.
Neighbours say the flat was causing havoc for people living nearby, day and night.
According to one local, people were discovered having sex in a public alleyway near the flat on more than one occasion, reports the Leicester Mercury.

“The noise was terrible. There was a lot of prostitution and other crime going on up there – but prostitution in particular,” said the neighbour in Gaskell Walk, Braunstone, Leicester
“People were turning up at all hours of the day to go to the flat, into the early hours of the morning.
“At two separate times we even discovered them going at it in the alleyway. It's just disgraceful, there are kids that come to visit me in this flat and for a while it was just not appropriate for them to do so.
"It has been a lot quieter since they were served the notice, it is a lot better.
“There's been plenty of trouble here, though. When we first moved in there were a lot of police there, so there's always been trouble."
Another resident said the problems had been going on for at least 12 months.
“It's just ridiculous that they have been able to get away with it for so long. There are elderly people that live here as well as families,” the resident said.

The police and the city council secured the order at Leicester Magistrates’ Court last week.
The order will remain in place for three months, and it means only the tenant of the flat can visit, unless approval is granted by the council.
Sgt Nick Golden said: “This is a true example of partnership working following concerns raised by the local community.
“We are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour in the area and this order will have a positive impact for local residents.”
