‘I found my daughter dead in a pool of her blood after toyboy lover killed her’

Dad Graham Tinkley had no idea his life was going to change forever as he was about to enter his daughter's newly rented cottage.

But after opening the front door he discovered his 47-year-old daughter Claire Ablewhite mutilated in a pool of her own blood.

Suspicions had initially been raised by his grandson who said his mum hadn't been responding to calls that day reports the Mail.

Jailed for life this week was her John Jessop, 26 had left Claire bleeding to death whilst he went to the pub leaving her dad to make the gruesome discovery.

He had been in a short relationship with Claire who had decided to call it off over concerns due to their age gap.

Claire's son, Daniel Abelwhite had been unable to contact his mum earlier in the day to tell her it was her turn to look after the horses she and her friend own jointly.

After being told of this by his grandson Graham Tinkley recounts how he made the decision to pop up to her house which was only a short 3-mile trip down the road from his.

He recalls that fateful day on 25 February last year.

‘I was the one who found her. I had gone round there, and at first, I was annoyed with her for letting people down because she hadn’t done the horses, and I thought to myself “Bloody Hell Clair what have you done”?

As he entered the house and discovered the massacre that had taken place his life would be turned upside down.

‘I went up, the door was locked but I opened it with my key and went into the front room and fell over a chair which I believe was the chair he was using to beat her. There was blood all over it and up the door.

‘Then I saw her lying there by the fireplace. There was blood all over the place. There had been blood shooting out of her neck where he had stabbed her. She was wearing her night-dress. She was lifeless on the floor and there was blood all over her face, her hair.’

Graham thanked the emergency services saying they were at the house in less than 10 minutes as he recalled the last-ditch attempts to save his daughter before they arrived. He was told to do 'mouth to mouth' and CPR but knew all his efforts would sadly be in vain.

The murderer John Jessop showed no emotion whilst Claire's family looked on as he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
