Cops arrest ‘completely naked’ man who jumped through window and hopped fences
Police have arrested a man after he allegedly jumped from a window "completely naked".
Staffordshire Police were called to Stonydelph in Tamworth on Thursday (June 1) following reports the man, who was wanted on recall to prison, had "gone from a residential address", reports BirminghamLive.
Officers paid a visit to a property in Edale, but said the man jumped out of the window and hopped over the fences of nearby gardens – all while in the buff.
A search was launched involving sniffer dogs and police helicopters as law enforcement personnel put out a local alert asking residents to keep an eye out for the man.
People living nearby the bizarre alleged crime scene reported seeing a police helicopter flying overhead and police cars "flying up and down Pennine Way and the B5000" on Thursday.
Local Lewis Orme previously told BirminghamLive: "I was surprised to say the least.
"I could hear and see the police helicopter overhead and police cars flying up and down Pennine Way and the B5000.
"Some officers were searching the fields near Stonydelph shops with the police dog. I was just thinking, 'What the hell is going on,' and what they could be searching for.
"It wasn’t until a neighbour came out and asked me if they had caught that man yet that I was alerted to what they were searching for."
As Friday rolled around the suspect was still nowhere to be found and officers were forced to continue the manhunt.
Today (Monday, June 5) Staffordshire Police said a 28-year-old man was arrested by officers on Saturday (June 3) with "assistance from a member of the public".
