Blockchain Startup Bison Trails Collaborates With Volt Capital To Power Institutional Staking In DeFi Networks
Blockchain infrastructure-as-a-service company Bison Trails is collaborating with early-stage venture Volt Capital to enable secure staking on the Celo Network, a mobile-first Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain network.
Celo is an open-source platform that makes financial tools accessible to anyone with a mobile phone. The novel proof-of-stake network is ultralight and features the built-in capability for supporting stablecoins such as Celo Dollars (cUSD) and Celo Euros (CEuro), which opens up use cases for decentralized personal payments applications. Currently, there are thousands of organizations and individuals developing, growing, and governing Celo. The network is powered by CELO, a utility and governance asset for the Celo community, which has a fixed supply and variable value. With CELO, users can contribute to the governance and future of the Celo network.
Volt Capital subsidiary TD Labs has been involved in the Celo Network since testnet and its validator has roughly four million votes to participate on the Celo Network. As part of the collaboration, Bison Trails will run the Celo validator node for Volt Capital, allowing the Volt Capital community to stake CELO, earn participatory rewards, and support the growth of the network. Bison Trails’ node infrastructure enables delegators to stake easily and is built to the highest security and reliability standards.
“Bison Trails is committed to the growth of the crypto ecosystem and innovative networks like Celo,” said Joe Lallouz, CEO of Bison Trails. “We’re excited to work with Volt Capital to further that mission by providing a seamless, secure staking experience on the Celo network for their community.”
Mohamed Fouda, Partner at Volt Capital, said that they are working with Bison Trails because the company’s robust infrastructure meets their high benchmark for security, reliability, and uptime, and the team brings invaluable protocol expertise and insights.
“The Celo community has been steadily growing, and we have been actively working with projects that are developing simple tools to enable better financial engagement with Celo to deliver the long-term vision of the project,” Fouda said. “Having the right infrastructure provider is key to helping innovative networks like Celo grow, scale, and attract participants securely. We look forward to continuing to work with Bison Trails, and expanding our collaboration to other networks.”
At the time of the announcement, Bison Trails’ node infrastructure for Volt Capital’s TD Labs is live and accepting delegations. In the near future, Volt Labs plans to collaborate with Bison Trails to support staking infrastructure for other innovative protocols.
