Acorn Baking Raspberry Creme Filled Cookies Recalled

Wine Country Gift Baskets is recalling all gift baskets produced with Acorn Baking Co. branded raspberry creme filled cookies, citing the possible presence of hazelnut, a tree nut allergen, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

According to the agency, it was discovered during production that some packages of the raspberry creme filled cookies contained hazelnut creme filled cookies.

These two cookies are produced in the same facility, and allergen statement on each individual cookie package states “May Contain Traces of Peanuts, Hazelnuts, Almonds, Sesame, Sulphites”.

Tree nut, which is listed as one of the nine major food allergens, may cause serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if people with allergy or severe sensitivity consume these products.

Wine Country Gift Baskets has not received any complaints about the product or any reports of illnesses to date.

The recall only affects the Raspberry Crème filled cookies in gift baskets shipped from August 29, 2023 to November 21, 2023. There is no issue with any of the other food in the gift basket.
