Cryptocurrency Exchange FTX Partners with Stephen Curry
FTX, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, announced yesterday that it has formed a long-term partnership with Stephen Curry, a famous American professional basketball player.
According to the latest collaboration, Curry is now a global brand ambassador for FTX. The NBA player will also receive an equity stake in FTX Trading Limited. The cryptocurrency exchange added that it will also partner with Curry’s foundation for different charitable initiatives.
The recent partnership is Curry’s first association with a cryptocurrency firm. The NBA player expressed his excitement on Twitter. Curry spent his entire professional career with the Golden State Warriors. Through his collaboration with FTX, Curry will increase the reach of the FTX brand through several upcoming initiatives.
“I’m excited to partner with a company that demystifies the cryptocurrency space and eliminates the intimidation factor for first-time users. FTX is likeminded when it comes to giving back to the community in meaningful ways and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together,” Curry said.
In August 2021, FTX announced a long-term partnership with Kevin O’Leary, a venture capitalist and Shark Tank investor. O’Leary signed a multi-year deal to serve as a spokesperson for the FTX brand.
Expansion
Through the latest partnership, FTX is planning to utilize the fan following of Stephen Curry to accelerate the global brand awareness of the company. The cryptocurrency exchange reported a sharp increase in trading volumes during the first half of 2021 and raised $900 million for global expansion in July 2021.
“After meeting and speaking with Stephen, it was clear that he is a seamless fit for FTX. His tireless commitment to charity alongside a ferocious work ethic to become the greatest in any arena he steps foot in, whether it is basketball, investing or business, perfectly aligns with FTX’s core values. I look forward to working together with Stephen to create a positive impact for those who need it most in the world,” Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of FTX, said.
