ROK Capital and Solana Launch $20 Million Eco Fund to Advance Solana Ecosystem

June 3rd, 2021 — Korea’s leading blockchain accelerator group ROK Capital and Solana Foundation has launched a $20m fund to develop the Solana blockchain ecosystem.

By partnering with Solana, the firm hopes to bootstrap a range of Solana-focused infrastructure projects, including those related to Web3, Defi, and NFTs. 

The focus will be on accelerating Solana’s expansion into the Korean market. Blockchain consulting firm FactBlock and community-based accelerator DeSpread have also joined the ecosystem fund as partners.

Under the newly established Solana Eco Fund, ROK Capital has invested in Mercurial Finance, Synthetify, Symmetry, and Parrot. It also bootstrapped Serum, a decentralized exchange (DEX) and ecosystem that brings unprecedented speed and low transaction costs to decentralized finance. Serum is built on Solana and is completely permissionless.
