The threshold of 54 no-confidence letters will be reached in a matter of hours after the Sue Gray report has been published, regardless of the findings, according to Politico. The Prime Minister is currently fighting on multiple fronts, including MPs on the right of the party who dislike his Covid and tax policies, Remainers who dislike him because of Brexit, as well as those who feel they have been overlooked for ministerial jobs. Meanwhile, Mr Johnson’s former aide Dominic Cummings has threatened more photos and details of parties will be leaked to the press, vowing to topple the Prime Minister.

Gray report not enough to save PM – ‘blue-on-blue sniping’ strikes
Boris Johnson is under attack from within his own party as “blue-on-blue sniping” outpaces the Sue Gray report.
Political journalist Harry Cole has suggested the report will not be enough to save the Prime Minister because his enemies within the Conservative Party are bombarding him with successive attacks.
The comments come as Ms Gray prepares to submit her findings this week into more than a dozen Downing Street parties held during lockdown.
Since the start of the inquiry, Mr Johnson has been rocked by further scandals including Brexiteer William Wragg’s accusation of whips engaging in intimidation and blackmail.
Over the weekend, sacked-minister Nusrat Ghani – an ally of leadership rival Jeremy Hunt – leveled an accusation of Islamophobia which has sparked a separate inquiry.
And last night, ITV revealed details of another lockdown-breaking event held inside Downing Street to celebrate the Prime Minister’s birthday.
Mr Cole noted: “All PMs have to deal with blue-on-blue sniping from a combination of the ‘past it’ and the ‘passed over’, but given there were three elections in just five years, the disgruntled pile is even larger than usual.”
Boris Johnson birthday party allegation
ITV has reported that Boris Johnson had an indoor party in the Cabinet room June 2020.
The Prime Minister was presented with a birthday cake by his wife Carrie, staff sang happy birthday and then ate picnic food from M&S for around half an hour.
Interior designer Lulu Lytle, who refurbished the Johnsons’ flat, also attended.
The PM’s scandal-hit Principal Private Secretary Martin Reynolds and No. 10 special advisers and officials are said to have been there.
At the time of the party, gatherings were only allowed to take place outside in groups of six.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak also attended as he was arriving for a Covid strategy meeting taking place afterward, according to reports in The Times.
Letters of no-confidence threshold will be reached no matter what, according to reports
Regardless of the findings from the Sue Gray report, the threshold of 54 no-confidence letters will be reached in a matter of hours after publication, according to Politico.
The 54 letters would trigger a vote on Boris Johnson’s future as leader of the Conservative party.
The Prime Minister’s main issue is that he is currently being fought on all fronts.
His former aide Dominic Cummings is widely believed to be orchastrating the campaign to oust him.
But there are also MPs on the right of the Tory Party who hate his Covid and tax policies.
There are also Tories on the pro-Remain wing who hate him because of Brexit.
After three elections in five years, there are also backbenchers who think they’ve been overlooked for ministerial jobs, and former rivals who feel they were wronged by him.
