Rachel Reeves announces plans to cut business rates

Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced Labour’s plans to abolish business rates and create a new Office for Value for Money.

Small businesses are the life blood of our communities, according to Ms Reeves.

She says cutting business rates will give small businesses a better chance against online giants who do not pay as much tax.

Ms Reeves said: “That is why Labour would freeze business rates next year, instead of letting them increase like the Tories will.

“And increase small business relief to help small businesses in all of our communities and on all of our highstreets.”
