Comedian roasts ‘shameful’ Sussexes – ‘lack of self-awareness is very funny’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been roasted by a comedian for their “lack of self-awareness”.

Comedian Tom Dillion appeared on Talk TV's show Piers Morgan Uncensored to share his thoughts on the couple, who he said show a “lack of self-awareness,” which is “very fun”. He subsequently urged them to “keep behaving shamefully” and added: “Victimhood makes me laugh when someone is clearly not a victim."

His comments came in reference to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. The couple as a target in the firing line of comedians has become an increasingly common phenomenon in the aftermath of the Prince’s incendiary memoir, Spare, in which he opened the door to the private lives of the Royal family.

Roastings of the Sussexs have been carried out by a number of comedians, many of them based in the US where the couple have now also made what appears so far to be a permanent camp. Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Chris Rock, South Park and Trevor Noah are among the comedians to have had a pop.

Dillon told Piers Morgan: "I love them. They are my favourites. Reality television in America had kind of died down and they've brought it back.

“It's very interesting to make a three-part documentary on Netflix about how bad things are while living in a castle. I find the lack of self-awareness there to be very fun. I mean they're very funny.”

He added: “I like them, I hope they don’t go away, I hope they keep doing this. I hope they keep behaving shamefully.”
