‘Creepy’ doctor who rubbed genitals on patients ‘asked woman if she liked sex’

A vile doctor who was jailed for masturbating over patients is back in court for an alleged indecent assault on another patient in Australia.

Dr Ali Khorami, who worked at a sleep clinic in Sydney's Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, would turn off cameras before carrying out disgusting acts such as groping sleeping women and masturbating.

The 51-year-old was jailed for six years back in 2020 but he now faces a fresh allegation from a young woman.

Dr Ali Khorami allegedly told her to remove her bra before asking her if she “liked sex”, the District Court of New South Wales was told.

According to News.com.au, the Iranian-born man allegedly knelt on the bed before placing his genitals in the open hand of the woman on February 8 in 2018.

She had texted her boyfriend “this place is creepy” before telling him “he asked if i like sex”.

Dr Khorami, who appeared in court via video link from Hunter Correctional Centre, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court was told that a large amount of the evidence during this trial would be taken from charges he faced in 2020.

The previous chargers included him rubbing his penis in a women's hands and feet and touching their groins.

He would also masturbate while pressed up against their bodies as they slept.

During one incident, Dr Khorami spiked a patient's orange juice with temazepam to ensure she would not wake up during his assault on her.

Dr Khorami had been careful not to get caught by turning off CCTV, as cameras were recording the sleep study, but he slipped up and security footage showed him masturbating over a patient.

When he was caught, he told police he was engaging in a form of "tantric healing" and all the women had consented.

Ken Buckman, Dr Khorami’s barrister, said his client maintains his innocence to both the current allegations and those from the previous trials.
