Likely due to his age – he is only four after all – the young Prince was not seen during the hour-long ceremony in London, with some citing his tendency to be a bit of a “rebel” as a key factor in his omission.
Columnist and sketch writer for the Telegraph newspaper Madeline Grant tweeted: “I like how Louis is considered too much of a loose cannon to have at the funeral.
“Not even five and already the Princess Margaret of his generation.”
Another person recalled the infamous hit comedy Christmas film Home Alone, where the main character is left alone at home in New York while his family go to France.
They wrote: “Would love to see a Home Alone type film of Prince Louis left to his own devices at Buckingham Palace today.
“Absolute carnage I imagine.”
To which another replied that the film should be called “Throne Alone”.
God Save the King's rarely used second verse Brits didn't know existed
And a third posted: “Prince Louis at home watching the #queensfuneral on CBeebies after jabbing his mum on National telly during the Jubilee.”
Some speculated that he might be one of the few watching the alternative television – the Emoji Movie on Channel 5.
The broadcaster was one of the few in the UK not to show the funeral.
One Twitter users commented: “No sign of Prince Louis, he’s probably at the palace watching the Emoji Movie on Channel 5.”
The Daily Star has contacted Clarence House and Buckingham Palace to find out exactly what Prince Louis was doing during the funeral.
