Full list of school closures as teacher strike causes chaos hits TODAY– is your child’s school affected? | The Sun

HUNDREDS of thousands of teachers will take part in a two day strike across England today in a bitter dispute over pay.

Teaching staff walked out for three days just two weeks ago after talks failed.

Members of the National Education Union (NEU) in England will strike today and tomorrow.

The two-day strike was planned for Wales as well but has since been called off after the Welsh government revisited their pay offer.

In a huge day of industrial action, those striking include teachers, university lecturers, civil servants, junior doctors, London Underground drivers and BBC journalists.

The NEU has refused to suspend the mass walkouts despite desperate pleas from Education Secretary Gillian Keegan.

Education Secretary Gillian Keegan said in an open letter to parents: "This industrial action will mean more disruption to children's education and to your lives too – whether that's work, arranging childcare or changing other plans.

"I am extremely disappointed that many young people will once again miss invaluable time learning with their teachers and friends, particularly after their education was significantly disrupted during the pandemic.

"This morning I have written to the unions again to invite them to have those talks on Wednesday and Thursday this week – all they need to do is call off strikes which are unnecessary and benefit no-one."

Here is the full list of schools in England that are being forced to shut their doors.
