Giant dog named after Dumbledore but ‘size of Hagrid’ rescued by TV shelter
Dumbledog really is as big as his name suggests and finally looks set to move into a loving forever home.
The giant mongrel with bundles of energy was taken in as a stray by the animal rescue team at Wood Green but can now look forward to a family of his own.
The centre which is home to Channel Four's hit TV show The Dog House was asking for potential owners of Dumbledog to have a garden bordered by a strong 6ft fence to stop him from making a dash for 'freedom'.
Aged just over 12-months-old, Dumbledog is an over-excitable dog with a big, bubbly personality who sometimes does not realise his strength, according to the home in Cambridgeshire.
Wood Green described him as an "energetic, adolescent wizard" but warned prospective adopters not to be fooled as "he's not your average-sized dog, more of a Hagrid-sized dog".
And while he cannot live with any other animals, another dog that is medium-sized or bigger is fine, as are teenage children, reports TeamDogs.
Would-be owners should also be aware that he will need further training to be left at home on his own.
According to the rescue centre's website, Dumbledog has been reserved but if you have fallen in love with him, it may still be worth getting in touch.
