Girl, 11, pregnant after being ‘raped by predator, 41, in supermarket car park’
An 11-year-old girl is pregnant after being raped by a 41-year-old man in a supermarket car park, her family claims.
Cleto Montoya Rodas has been arrested and charged with first-degree rape and sexual battery, reports in the US say.
The child’s parents contacted police after the girl took a pregnancy test, which turned out to be positive, authorities reportedly said.
The girl is said to have told investigators that he raped her multiple times in December including in a Walmart Parking lot in Metairie, Louisiana.
Jefferson Parish Assistant District Attorney Tonia William said Rodas knew the victim's family, Nola.com reports.
Her mother reportedly repeatedly confronted him about the abuse and he admitted touching the girl with his hands and mouth but denied going any further.
On Friday, a Jefferson Parish judge set Rodas’ bond at $550,000. He’s also been barred from having any contact with the victim.

The child, who had not been named, was rushed to hospital after she complained that she had a stomach ache.
Unsuspecting to the family, the pre-teen was actually seven months pregnant.
She had been raped by a neighbour, who allegedly threatened her to keep the ordeal a secret.
Doctors delivered her baby, a little girl, but it tragically died as it was two-months premature.
Times of India reported that the mother herself is in a critical condition.

The grisly attack took place in Rudrapur, Nagar in India.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and tested for DNA, a police spokesman said.
He has been accused of grooming the girl with chocolates before subjecting her to a sickening sexual assault.
Police spokesman KG Mathpal said: "According to her, the man lured her with chocolates, allegedly raped her and threatened her against revealing it.
"Until now she had never told her parents about the alleged rape or the pregnancy. Her mother said she skirted questions about the visible changes inherent body."
