Girl crushed by falling tree in strong winds outside London school

A schoolgirl has been taken to hospital after being crushed by a tree following strong winds.
She was injured in Erith, south east London on Thursday morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene outside the King Henry School.
The youngster was freed before being taken to hospital.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8:07am today (11 March) to reports of a person injured by a falling tree on Ramsden Road, Erith.
"We sent an ambulance crew and treated a child and took them to hospital."
Forecasters warned 70mph gusts will batter the country.
A warning by the Met Office said: "Strong and gusty winds are likely to develop on Wednesday evening and continue into Thursday across England and Wales.
"Gusts of 50-55 mph are possible inland, especially close to showers.
"On coasts and hills, especially in the west, wind speeds may reach 60-70 mph on before gradually easing this afternoon."
The Met Office added: "Tonight will remain windy with clear spells and showers most frequent in the west, heavy at times with hail and risk of thunder. Showers falling as snow over high ground, particularly Scotland."

A yellow weather warning was put in place across England and Wales.
Wind speeds pushed 40mph in south east London, the Sun reports.
In Tonbridge, Kent, a trampoline was blown onto the tracks and struck by a train.
Problems were reported around the area due to "an obstruction on the line", with the power turned off so staff could remove it.
It later emerged a trampoline that had been lodged under a train, which fortunately had no passengers on it.
A picture of the trampoline showed it lodged under the train's carriage as it had been torn apart by the wheels.
A spokesman for Southeastern train service said said: "The reason for the delay at Tonbridge is this trampoline, which is lodged under a train which thankfully had no passengers on.
"Power to lines in the Tonbridge area had been switched off, to allow response staff to attempt to safely remove the object from the lines."
The blockage caused disruption to Southeastern services between nearby Paddock Wood and Sevenoaks as well as Sevenoaks and Hastings, East Sussex.
