Harry agreed to Oprah interview after ‘angry argument over military titles’
Prince Harry was fuming after his remaining military titles were stripped away and signed up for the Oprah Winfrey interview within just 24 hours, it has been claimed.
Back in February, Buckingham Palace announced that he and Meghan Markle would not return as working members of the Royal Family.
The drastic decision formed part of a Megxit review, with Harry losing the following appointments – Captain General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Force Commandant of the Royal Air Force Base Honington, and honorary Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Navy’s Small Ships and Diving Operations.
An argument reportedly broke out over the titles, leaving Harry “very cross”.
A source told The Sun: “There was a bust-up just before Oprah but it wasn’t to do with Archie’s title.
“That had been known and discussed for quite a while.
“Harry and Meghan were very cross before Oprah because the final Megxit separation had just been signed off which included Harry not keeping military roles.
“That was what made him so angry. He’s very emotional and his military roles were very important to him given that he served.”
Palace insiders claim the titles were removed to stop Harry from using them to promote his Netflix documentaries.

He and Meghan made a series of damning allegations against the royals during the interview.
At one point, the duchess said senior royals expressed concerns about the colour of Archie’s skin.
She also claimed she had been refused help after revealing she had been suffering from suicidal thoughts.
Journalist Omid Scobie claimed that some royals weren’t “sympathetic” with Harry and Meghan after the Archie comments were initially made, the Daily Mail reported.
He said: “There was one conversation that took place that affected them massively, when it came to someone within the Royal Family sharing concerns over the colour of Archie's skin.
“To Harry I can see how it is one conversation, to Meghan who would have been involved in the follow-up conversations I can see – because there were other people aware of this conversation within the family and within the institution, that did also speak about it, some not so sympathetically.
“So you then are in a position where you start to feel – well it's not just this one person, it's others as well and it becomes a much bigger issue.”
Harry has not relented in his attacks since the interview was broadcast.
