Harry and Meghan ‘escalate royal war’ as they ‘fling open doors’ on private life
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's docuseries "intends to escalate the royal war," says an expert.
The first three episodes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's six-part series will arrive on Netflix tomorrow (Thursday, December 8) and the show is already expected to contain a series of bombshell claims, with expert Bronte Coy claiming Buckingham Palace's roof will be "blown off."
"There’s no doubt left that Harry and Meghan’s docuseries intends to escalate the royal war," Coy wrote for news.com.au.

"If there was any doubt remaining that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s long-awaited Netflix docuseries was going to blow the roof off Buckingham Palace, its latest trailer will have eviscerated it."
Already the two trailers advertising the series have caused controversy, with Harry accusing his royal relatives of a "dirty game" and lamenting the "pain and suffering" of the women who marry into the Firm, including his wife
However, some are wondering why the pair have chosen to make the documentary now, nearly three years after they stepped down as working royals in 2020 and restarted their life in the US.
"It begs the question: besides the obvious windfall, what’s in it for Harry and Meghan?" Coy wrote.

"What is this docu-series, if not a rehashing of their bombshell Royal Family exit interview with Oprah Winfrey?
"There’s no doubt that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s sensational resignation from the Royal Family in the pursuit of happiness and freedom inspired many.
"They’ve built the beautiful family they’ve both always longed for (in a home worth more than $20 million), they’ve got unparalleled access to people and organisations around the world that will truly help them make a real difference in their philanthropy, and most importantly: they’ve got each other."
She added: "Harry and Meghan are free, living a privileged existence most could only dream of, with the world at their feet and every opportunity to have a lifetime of happiness."
Coy added that the couple have made it known they crave privacy, citing it as one of their initial reasons for ending their work as senior royals.
And while the series is a great opportunity to tell their story, the writer says instead the couple are choosing to heighten tensions between them and their royal relatives across the pond.
"With so much negative press dogging them in recent years, and a feeling of being misunderstood, here was their great opportunity: to flip the script and simply show the world who they are and what they care about," Coy added.
"Instead, it appears we’re getting another round in the endless Sussexes v Monarchy war.
"And who does it serve?"
"Of course, they owe us nothing, and are completely entitled to live as private citizens, as they declared was their intention when they quit royal duties in early 2020," she added.
"But if they are willing to fling open the doors to their Montecito mansion and let us all in: it’s a shame it can’t simply be to finally show us who they are, away from the negativity of the past."

Two trailers released to advertise the Netflix series seem to focus on Meghan's experiences after she married Prince Harry in 2018.
"There was a war against Meghan to suit other people's agendas," added a commentator who is set to appear in the documentary.
Another expert chimed in: "It's about hatred. It's about race," while Harry added: "It's a dirty game."
"I was terrified. I didn't want history to repeat itself," the Prince added.
The trailer ends with the Prince declaring: "No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth."
