Harry under ‘intense scrutiny at Philip’s funeral and rightly so,’ expert claims
Prince Harry will step out alongside his Royal family today (April 17) for the first time since he and the Duchess of Sussex criticised the Firm in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke of Sussex jetted back from the Untied States to England following the death of his beloved grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh on April 9.
Prince Philip died at Windsor Castle with his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, at his side, a month after he underwent a heart operation and treatment for an infection at St Bartholomew's in London.
Harry is said to have been very close to his grandfather, but their relationship had reportedly become strained following his decision to step back as a senior member of the Royal Family in January 2020.
Further strain was put on the Royals when Meghan and Harry publicly claimed a member of the Firm had asked what colour Archie Mountbatten-Windsor's skin colour would be prior to his birth.
The Duke's presence will therefore be under "intense scrutiny," Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Daily Star.
Mr Fitzwilliams said any scrutiny that falls Harry's way is deserved, considering the timeline between Philip's death and the interview.

He said: "Prince Harry and William, Harry in particular, will be under intense scrutiny, as they should be.
"The interview was unprecedented and it damaged the Royal Family’s reputation.
"It was just two months ago he and Meghan sat down with Oprah and it hasn’t been long enough for the British public to forgive.
Mr Fitzwilliams went on to explain that it is important to remember Prince Harry and Prince William are there to mourn however, and people should be respectful.

Harry and William had "great respect for their grandfather," and they're there to do nothing else but honour him in the way that he deserved to be honoured.
He told the Star: "All eyes will be on them and I’m sure the nation will remember the tearful moment the boys walked behind their mother, Princess Diana, coffin.
"It’s important to remember the pair had great respect for their grandfather however, and they’re there to honour him."
