A woman who claims she asked God to make her allergic to her boyfriend says her prayers were "answered" after she was rushed to hospital with hives.
Zakiya Ivey, 24, said she made the prayer on April 8 as she had been questioning her month-long relationship with a new beau.
"Lord if this man is not for me, if you do not want me to be with him, give me a non-lethal allergic reaction the next time I'm with him," is what the teacher from Chicago, Illinois, US, asked the big man upstairs.

On April 10 she picked her boyfriend up for a gym session. Just 20 minutes into the workout her face started swelling like a balloon. Her skin and eyes started to sting and she was taken to hospital.
She said: "I was scratching, I was rubbing my eyes. My friend told me my eyes were puffing up and I thought 'no way'. At that point, my prayer was being answered. I was shocked."
After being discharged she said she knew "exactly what she had to do" and dumped the boyfriend. Zakiya also said she was told doctors "weren't able to find a cause" for the reaction, telling her she would have to go to an allergist.
She has now vowed to pray to God before getting into any relationships in the future. She also urged women to trust their gut feelings and look out for "red flags".
Zakiya said: "The relationship wasn't fulfilling, we didn't go on dates. We'd hang out at the house. I had to always ask to go on dates. From the jump it wasn't right.
"When the allergic reaction happened, I knew exactly what I had to do, but I didn't want to do it.
"It took me like a week to break up with him. I thought he could possibly change or that maybe it was a fluke.
"We didn't share the same values, I don't think we were on the same page. It felt like I was more interested in the relationship than he was."
