A “millionaire” social media influencer who was found chopped up and shoved in a suitcase posted chilling messages he received on social media before his death.
Parts of Fernando Pérez Algaba, 41, were found in a red suitcase by two children playing football near a stream in Buenos, Aires on July 23. An autopsy revealed the influencer also suffered two gunshot wounds. He had been missing since July 19.
Despite claiming to be a “millionaire” Algaba was reportedly in serious debt. Local media reports that he received up to 200 threatening audio and text messages.
“’I’m not going to kill you, I’m going to do something worse to you, I’m going to gouge out your eyes and cut off your hands so that you can’t have any more money in your life,” one of the messages said according to the Argentine agency Telam.
Algaba reportedly owed the man $70,000. The man said Algaba “betrayed him” and was “poisonous”.

The influencer had 918,000 Instagram followers and flaunted his luxurious life with posts of high-end cars and exclusive parties.
However, before he died he made a series of disturbing social media posts.
In one audio recording, he said: “It’s incredible how there are such evil people in the world that while you’re thinking of helping them, they’re thinking of destroying you.”
In another post, the influencer added: “Hello, Mom, I needed to clear my head as always. And from here, I am realizing two things: that we can’t escape from problems and that problems will follow us.”

On July 23, the dismembered remains of the self-made millionaire influencer were found in a suitcase by the playing children.
The red suitcase allegedly included the victim’s legs and a forearm. A complete arm was found outside of the case after the authorities dredged the nearby stream.
Algaba was identified by his fingerprints and distinctive tattoos. Local media said the body parts were cleanly amputated, suggesting it could have been carried out by a professional.
On Thursday, a suspect was arrested and appeared in court. It’s still unclear whether they were connected with the violent crime.
