Kache Wallis, 4, is found dead at his home after being reported as missing
THE 4-year-old Utah boy who had been missing since Saturday night was found dead in his home on Sunday, police said.
Police confirmed in a statement that Kache Wallis' body had been located and that an investigation into his death was currently underway.
"Hurricane Police were notified of a missing child, four-year-old Kache Wallis, on July 25th, 2021," the statement says.
"Hurricane Police Officers and surrounding agencies were dispatched to the area. The child was later located deceased in the home.
"This incident is currently under investigation with the Hurricane Police Department and the Medical Examiner's Office."
It's unclear at this time how police believe the child died.
Hurricane is a city in southwestern Utah.
The city's police department first asked for the public's help locating the child earlier in the day on Sunday.
In a Facebook post, Hurricane Police said that the little boy was last seen when he was tucked into bed on Saturday night.
"He was last seen wearing white Ninja Turtle pajamas," the post said.
"He may be with his non-custodial mother Erika Carrell in a WHITE 2017 NISSAN SENTRA with OREGON license plates."
Police have not yet disclosed if they suspect anyone in the child's death.
The department also thanked everyone who assisted in the search for Kache.
