While some of us have had to bound around different jobs, sometimes two at the same time, just to make ends meet – others have led a more charmed life.
Kate Middleton can certainly be placed under this category, the royal working just two part time jobs before becoming the apple of Prince William's eye.
However, despite her rather empty looking CV, Kate managed to garner an astonishing net worth total long before her status as a high-ranking royal.
Her first gig saw her work as a part-time assistant accessories buyer at clothing chain Jigsaw. She reportedly secured the job after asking the brand’s founder for a job because the only other thing she could have put down on her CV at the time was a 2:1 in Art History.
TIME estimates that at the time of her job at Jigsaw, before her marriage to Prince William, Kate's net worth was around £5.3million.
Surprisingly, this is more than the net worth of sister-in-law and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle according to news.com.au.
Meghan's worth before her marriage to Prince Harry was thought to be around the £3million figure, accumulated via her time as an actress on the smash-hit series Suits, as well as being a successful calligrapher.
It is important to note Kate's large fortune actually stems from parents Carole and Michael Middleton, the creators of a hugely successful party planning business. This business was the location of Kate's second job, where she helped part time. As of 2018, the business was rumoured to be worth around £40million.

Long before the Middleton's "Party Pieces" company became a money-maker, Kate's great-grandfather was thought to have set up a seven-figure trust fund for his family, according to news.com.au.
There are a number of other means of income which are all contributing to the Middleton wealth, such as stakes in racehorses and owning a number of properties in Bucklebury, Berkshire.
An added bonus is that the money made from the Duchy of Cornwall effectively pays for the upkeep of the entire Cambridge family, meaning Kate can sit back and keep her multi-million pound fortune safe on the extremely unlikely chance she endures a financially "rainy day".
