London’s ‘most dangerous woman’ to be freed from prison within days

A convicted stalker once dubbed London's "most dangerous woman" is set to be freed from prison within days.

Farah Damji, 55, also known as Farah Dan, was jailed for five years in 2016 for stalking a church warden after meeting him on an online dating site.

Damji had reportedly made her victim's life "complete hell" after he rejected her sexual advances.

While in prison she raised £5,000 in donations on Twitter to hire a barrister to appeal the conviction in November 2016.

Damji, the daughter of a South Africa-born property tycoon, also published online character assassinations of people who had been protected by restraining orders, such as her former legal representatives and police officers.

She even sent a letter to the Government accusing the investigating officer in her case of "stalking and harassing" her, Southwark Crown Court heard.

The officer is one of many names Damji, once described as "London's most dangerous woman", is restrained from mentioning.

Damji was convicted in February 2020 of two counts of breaching the order, in April and June 2018.

But "extremely manipulative" Damji fled to Ireland during her trial and was jailed for 27 months in her absence.

A judge at the High Court in Dublin last week cleared the way for her to be extradited to the UK.

Rhiannon Cole, representing Damji, argued she had spent a considerable amount of time on remand in Ireland, saying she had a maximum of 10 days left to serve.

Damji was jailed in 2010 for a £17,500 housing benefit fraud and she has numerous convictions for fraud, theft and perverting the course of justice.

She has three separate counts of stalking and has been the subject of high-profile affairs.

Prosecutor Richard Hearnden said: "In short, she has made the lives of three people with who she had become entangled with complete hell."

Judge Jeffrey Pegden KC, said Damji's sentence had to be served. Damji will now serve the rest of her sentence until her release in the coming days.
