This is the moment a gardening grandmother was confused by her grandchild speaking to her through her doorbell speaker.
Footage from the Ring doorbell shows the unnamed woman from Rochester, Minnesota, reacting to the unexpected greeting.
The woman, wearing a cap and purple shirt, is devotedly watering her beloved garden when she hears a ‘hello?’.
Initially startled, she puts her watering can down, but does not realize the voice is coming from the doorbell’s speaker
Instead, she reaches for the phone in her back pocket and pulls it out.
She realizes there are no incoming calls, but the ‘hello’ is repeated and she can’t seem to figure out where from.
In the 57-second video, we hear the giggles of her grandchild, who can’t help but have a laugh at the cute reaction of her grandmother.
Grandma keeps struggling with her phone as she adjusts the volume and touches the screen hoping to magically solve the mystery.
The grandchild shared the video, recorded on July 22, online, and explained: ‘This is a video of my grandma outside the front of our house watering the flowers.
‘I have a Ring doorbell hooked up and was waiting for the perfect moment to talk to her.
‘She did the last thing I expected and pulled out her phone thinking someone was talking to her there.’
Some viewers sympathized with the confused woman, and others thought the video was simply hilarious.
One commenter said: ‘Grandma, welcome to the 21st century.’
The clip ends without revealing how long it took for the grandchild to end the woman’s confusion.
