NatWest, Lloyds, Halifax, and the Bank of Scotland has announced 36 more branches are to close down.
The closures of the branches from four of Britain’s biggest banks stretch across the country from the Isle of Arran, in Scotland, to Penzance in Cornwall.
Lloyds has taken the largest hit with 18 branches shutting their doors, 15 Halifax banks will close, two at Bank of Scotland, while NatWest has announced one closure, with the closures beginning in 2024, reported The Mirror.
NatWest previously said its ‘customers are shifting to mobile and online banking, because it’s faster and easier for people to manage their financial lives’.
In a previous statement, the bank spokesperson said: ‘We understand and recognise that digital solutions aren’t right for everyone or every situation, and that when we close branches we have to make sure that no one is left behind.

Halifax has announced 15 of its banks will close down from the start of 2024 including in Leeds and Penzance, in Cornwall
‘We take our responsibility seriously to support the people who face challenges in moving online, so we are investing to provide them with support and alternatives that work for them.’
Lloyds Banking Group also said customers are moving towards digital banking.
