Prince George and Princess Charlotte ‘helped Kate pick 40th birthday photo’
Kate Middleton had some help from her children when choosing which photos to release from her iconic 40th birthday photoshoot, claims the photographer.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were all involved in looking over the images and even selected one that was released on social media.
The Cambridge children’s involvement was revealed by famed photographer Paolo Roversi, who took the portraits of Kate in London's Kew Gardens in November.
Roversi shared with Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera that her family chose the close-up photo of the Duchess of Cambridge in a white one-shoulder dress.
He told the publication that this image showed “where a carefree girl returns”.
The Duchess of Cambridge was reportedly “apprehensive” over the photoshoot due to Roversi’s work with models as she was “not used to posing”.
Roversi also revealed that the shoot was discussed beforehand during tea and biscuits with the Duchess at Kensington Palace.
He said he wanted to keep the photos looking “contemporary” by using natural light and little makeup.

Kate also paid tribute to the Queen and to Princess Diana during the shoot by wearing pieces of their jewellery.
The Duchess wore the Queen’s diamond earrings, which Her Majesty last wore in 2014, and in the black and white released photos showed Diana’s pearl drop earrings.
The three photos taken by Roversi, a renowned fashion photographer, of Kate will enter a permanent collection called “Coming Home” at the National Portrait Gallery, which is due to reopen in 2023.

Before they join the collection, the photos will go on display in three places special to Kate, Berkshire, St. Andrews and Anglesey, throughout the year.
Kate received praise over her photoshoot and was publicly wished a happy birthday by royals on social media except for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to a royal expert Charles Rae, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex passed their well wishes through a zoom call.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Mr Rae said: “"Who knows what the Montecito Massive will do.
"But as they are thousands of miles away it is likely they will wish her happy birthday via Zoom."
