Prince George ‘wipes away tears’ at Queen’s funeral in heartbreaking footage

Prince George was seen wiping tears inside Westminster Abbey having walked alongside his father Prince William at the Queen's funeral.

The nine-year-old joined his younger sister, Princess Charlotte, and other members of the Royal Family as part of a procession as they walked in Westminster Abbey.

When they arrived at their seats, George was seen appearing to get emotional and was seen wiping tears from his face.

The moment was spotted by viewers, who shared their thoughts on social media.

One said: "Little Prince George wiping away tears."

Another commented: "Prince George is crying."

"A beauty service so far, the first glimpse of Prince George and I started crying," a third added.

George has accompanied his parents to numerous engagements over the last year, with Charlotte and younger brother Prince Louis making appearances during the Queen’s jubilee.

At the end of the service, George and Charlotte will leave the ceremony in a procession behind the coffin once more – walking with their parents as they leave the Abbey.

They will later join their parents along with the other royals and the 800-strong congregation at the committal service in St George's Chapel in Windsor.

World leaders including US president Joe Biden and French president Emmanuel Macron and other top foreign dignitaries were invited to the funeral, in what was described by some as the "reception of the century".
