RTD service in the Denver area will be suspended Sunday evening
The Regional Transportation District is suspending all bus and rail services at 7 p.m. Sunday due to road closures and blizzard conditions throughout the Denver area, the agency said in a news release Sunday.
Multiple buses had been stuck on roadways throughout Sunday, the release said, and some rail equipment had frozen over. Worsening weather conditions made it difficult for RTD to provide service in the area.
The agency will monitor the situation and determine when to resume service based on conditions and safety. In recent days, the Colorado Department of Transportation and the City of Denver have warned residents not to travel on the roads during the snowstorm and to stay home and to not drive.
