Russia threatens to use nuclear weapons ‘on European border’ in chilling warning
Crackpot Russian TV hosts have warned Vladimir Putin may soon choose to deploy tactical nuclear weapons on the border with Europe in response to Sweden and Finland's desires to join Nato.
The chilling claims were made on state-run Putin mouthpiece channel Rossiya One which has been anything but diplomatic since the war began in February.
Speaking on the channel, which has become increasingly unhinged as Russian casualties have grown, a commentator laid down the options available to Mad Vlad should Sweden and Finland join.
They said: "Their official reason is fear. But they'll have more fear in Nato.
"When Nato bases appear in Sweden & Finland, Russia will have no choice but to neutralise the imbalance & new threat by deploying tactical nuclear weapons."
The Mail reports that the deputy chairman of Russia's security council Dmitry Medvedev had previously warned that Russia could place nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles in its Kaliningrad base between Poland and Lithuania.
Sweden and Finland joining NATO would be a huge blow to Putin.
Famously neutral, Sweden has avoided joining any alliances for 200 years however Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson has said they are now willing to join if neighbouring Finland joins.
She said: "Europe, Sweden and the Swedish public are living a new and dangerous reality.
"The best thing for the security of Sweden and the Swedish people is to join Nato."
Whether on not Putin goes through his plans may be an irrelevance though as a top Russian politician has already bragged about their readiness to destroy the United Kingdom in 200 seconds.
Aleksey Zhuravlyov, 59, boasted about the terrifying threat of their SATAN nuclear missiles which he claims would also eradicate Finland within 10 seconds.
The deputy chairman of the parliament’s defence committee made the wild remarks in response to the Western unity against Russia.

Asked whether Russia would now rebase nuclear weapons onto its border with Finland, Zhuravlyov said: “What for? We don't need to.
“We can hit with a Sarmat [known in the West as Satan-2] from Siberia, and even reach the UK.
“And if we strike from Kaliningrad, the hypersonic's reaching time is 200 seconds – so go ahead, guys."
Nice flex..
