Staff cracking crude jokes in workplace could be suspended for year in new rules
Po-faced bosses have banned sharing cheeky jokes with colleagues.
And the office banter blitz could end in a year-long job suspension.
Staff in the legal profession making crude gags or sharing saucy videos on social media could be punished severely.
The purge – due to come into force from January – has been described as a “woke” campaign that will stifle office banter.
But the Bar Tribunal and Adjudication Service, responsible for disciplinary action in England and Wales, said culprits will face an initial one year’s suspension for “misconduct of a sexual nature”.
It added: “We recognise these bands cover a wide range of types of conduct, but we cannot agree that what is termed ‘low level’ misconduct in some of the responses should attract lesser sanctions.”
But those working in the legal sector blasted the new guidelines.
Peter Smart said: “Our woke regulators and their woke supporters are just on a different planet.”
Jeremy Burnett Rae added: “It is disgraceful to consider suspending anybody for making a dirty joke.”
Last month, the Star reported how Jimmy Carr fears there is a "landmine" joke from his past that will resurface and destroy his career.
Darts walk-on girls axed in PC storm hit back and 'are more in demand than ever'
The comic reckons something that was once acceptable will be deemed sick or offensive in the "woke" world.
Jimmy worries the gag is already online and when it is found, snowflakes obsessed with cancel culture will be calling for his head.

The 48-year-old star said: "I think that I may be retired. It’s that lovely line, you know, the joke that ends my career.
"I’ve already told it. It’s on YouTube somewhere waiting, it’s like a landmine.
"We don’t know which one it is. We can’t take it down because we don’t know."
