Teacher performed oral sex on teen student before swapping raunchy pics with him
A woman teacher who carried out a sex act on a teenage student in her classroom has dodged a jail sentence.
Instead, the now former teacher will serve her sentence on probation.
The Denton Record-Chronicle reports Jeana Wesson used to work at the Guyer High School, Denton, as a chemistry teacher until 2019.
She pleaded guilty in district court Thursday to having had an "improper relationship" between an educator and student.
As a result, Wesson, 48, was ordered to do 10 years of deferred probation and was handed a $1,000 fine. She had faced up to 20 years behindbars.
That means she has to report to the Community Supervision and Corrections Department of Denton at least once a month, break no other laws, avoid illegal drugs and surrender her teacher’s license.
She voluntarily surrendered her State Board of Educator Certification in July 2019 when education chiefs launched an inquiry. Last year, she also gave up her teaching licenses.
The paper said the court was told Wesson, then 44, performed oral sex on a 17-year-old male student in her classroom at Guyer sometime around May 15, 2017.
According to court records obtained by the Denton Record-Chronicle, that happened less than three weeks before the end of the student’s senior year during the last instructional block of the day, when Wesson didn’t have a class.
It came to light when the student confessed to someone else, and they called in the police in December 2018.
When officers quizzed the student, it emerged their relationship developed after they swapped naked images of each other.
The paper said they “spoke about having sex and had shared several sexually explicit messages, nude photos and videos”.

The officer obtained a confession from the chemistry teacher at her home in February 2019 and she was arrested the following day when she presented herself at her local police station.
Officers said at the time there was no indication of other victims.
Her court dates were then regularly postponed or cancelled for more than two years until her Thursday plea.
