Teacher who resigned over racy content ‘grieving’ over losing ‘education’ career

A teacher who resigned after her racy online content was found is “grieving” about never being able to “go back into education” ever again.

Brianna Coppage resigned from her teaching job last month after students at St Clair High School in Missouri, United States, found her X-rated content. After an interview with two administrators, she resigned, and her access to school emails and other software was removed.

The 28-year-old, who used the alias Brinley Love and Brooklin Love, had been creating adult content on a number of adult websites, but the teacher has since said that she was expecting it. Despite her extra-curricular earnings, Brianna believed the day someone discovered it "was coming”.

Brianna had taught first and second year students at the college, offering her teachings to freshmen and sophomores. She was making between £6.5k ($8,000) to £8.1k ($10,000) every month on top of her school salary.

And in a new interview with local media outlet KMOV, she said: “I’ve definitely gone through a grieving process, especially during that first week and second week – just knowing I won’t be going back to education and I won’t ever be seeing my students again in the classroom.

“That was tough. Missouri is one of the lowest states in the nation for teacher pay.

“The district I was working for is also one of the lowest paying districts in the state, and I feel like times are tough, I have student loans, I have multiple degrees in education, and it would be helpful for extra money.”

Brianna initially didn't post her face in her racy content because of her job, but has since been doing so because of the resignation. She hasn't yet told how much she has been earning from the online content job . . . but you can safely assume it would be more than her teaching job.

She said: “A lot of people asking why didn’t you just get a part time job somewhere, and that seems like that would’ve worked better but teachers also take all of their work home. “We don’t get to stop working when we leave the school day, we don’t get to grade all 130 students’ papers during the day.

“It’s just not possible when you’re teaching, so we take that work home with us on the evenings and on the weekends – getting a second job is really not possible.” School superintendent Kyle Kruse confirmed the district was "recently notified that an employee may have posted inappropriate media on one or more internet sites” last month, with no comment being made since.

However, he said: “Legal counsel has since been sought by the school. The district has engaged legal counsel to conduct a comprehensive investigation into this matter. Actions taken as a result of the investigation will be in accordance with board policy and with guidance from legal counsel.”
