Teenage rapper claims he was 'racially profiled' in Florida

Black rapper, 16, claims he was racially profiled by white residents in wealthy Florida neighborhood who smashed the window of his $30,000 Mercedes after accusing him of drag racing

• Jermaine, or known as rapper BKBpole, says he was driving to his friend’s house in the Maple Glen Place neighborhood in Sanford, Florida on June 14
• The 16-year-old was surrounded by multiple angry residents who began shouting at him to get out of their neighborhood
• Jermaine says things escalated quickly to the point that one of the residents allegedly smashed in a window of his white C230 Mercedes-Benz
• He claimed on his social media that the two men seen in the video were arrested for damaging his vehicle 
• The incident took place in Sanford County, the same area where Trayvon Martin, 17, was shot and killed in 2012

A teenage rapper claimed that he was racially profiled in a wealthy Florida neighborhood and residents surrounded his car before smashing one of his windows after they accused him of drag racing.

Jermaine, or known as rapper BKBpole, says he was driving to his friend’s house in the Maple Glen Place neighborhood in Sanford, Florida when he was approached by residents on June 14.

The 16-year-old was surrounded by multiple angry residents who began shouting at him to get out of their neighborhood.

Jermaine says things escalated quickly to the point that one of the residents allegedly smashed in a window of his white C230 Mercedes-Benz. The cost of that model runs typically up to $30,000.

That was when the young rapper began recording on his cellphone.  

The video captured one man shouting that he was ‘burning out racing through my f***ing neighborhood,’ while taking photos of his license plate.

A woman yelled: ‘Get out of this neighborhood, you don’t belong here!’

The teenager got out of his car vandalized car to record the damage and unfolding scene with residents of the neighborhood. Pictured is the smashed window and glass-covered backseat 

Jermaine, who shared the terrifying footage on his Instagram, believes he was ‘racially profiled’ because they ‘didn’t like the way I was driving.’

‘So they felt the need to hit my car with a cone, and throw a rock through my window.’

Despite being told to leave, Jermaine stayed behind until police arrived at the scene. 

‘All I wanted to do was de-escalate until police came, because I wasn’t about to get charges pressed on me for no reason,’ he explained. 

CJ Jones, Jermaine’s father, arrived at the scene on Tuesday after the altercation. 

While police worked on the scene, Jones took a separate video that showed the damages to his son’s car while the neighborhood residents he says were responsible  waved in the background. 

While informing his followers about the incident on Instagram, Jermaine claimed the two viewed above were arrested on Tuesday

A woman nearby was recording the incident while shouting at the rapper and telling him to leave the area while claiming he didn’t belong there

While police worked on the scene, Jones took a five-minute video that shows the damages to his son’s car while the neighborhood residents he says were responsible sarcastically waved in the background

‘That’s a deadly weapon,’ Jones said in reference to the rock thrown through the car window. 

Jermaine claimed on his social media that the two men seen in the video were arrested for damaging his vehicle.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office wasn’t immediately available to provide comment on the occurrence. 

Homes in the wealthy Florida neighborhood are currently selling for nearly $1 million on Zillow.

Meanwhile, the Jermaine’s damaged car is unable to be driven as of June 16, according to his recent Instagram story. 

The incident is gaining traction after the young rapper blasted the video on his Instagram and TikTok account – where he has been posting snippets of songs since 2021.  

Sanford County is also known as the area where Trayvon Martin, 17, was shot and killed in 2012. 

Jermaine sat on the curb with an unidentified woman to fill out a police report while his father recorded the aftermath of the incident
