The herd was snapped as the sun broke through thunderous clouds above Windsor Castle. Today they will probably be sheltering as temperatures are set to plummet.
The Met Office warns conditions will be “much colder” across Britain, with strong gales and rain expected in the far North-east.
The rain began lashing the West yesterday. One lane of the M4 in Wales was closed when it flooded and forecasters issued a “yellow” rain warning for the South of England from 4pm until early this morning.
The Met Office said: “Rain may be accompanied by coastal gales and, in a few places, thunder ‑ 15 to 25mm of rain is widely expected with 30 to 50mm possible.”
Temperatures are only expected to reach 52F in the South and 46F in parts of the North ‑ a huge drop compared to the previous day’s highs of 62F.
And there’s more to come. The Weather Outlook said: “Tomorrow starts chilly and in places there could be a touch of frost.” And showers are expected, particularly in central and northern regions.
