UK’s most dangerous holiday destination boasts beaches, golf and a lot of crime
The most dangerous place to go on holiday in the UK might raise some eyebrows given its seaside charm and attractions.
Holidaymakers typically worry about their own home security when left empty for a week or so, but new research suggests we should also be considering just how safe our destination is – even if it's in the UK.
Security experts at ADT have analysed crime data to reveal the safety and riskiest staycations in the UK.

They looked at crime rates, including burglary rates to help you book smarter and safer.
The most dangerous place in the UK has been identified as North Lincolnshire, which has a crime rate of 5,743 per 10,000.
Despite its high crime rate, the area is known for its holiday attractions including a vast selection of golf courses and beaches.
Derbyshire has been named as the second most dangerous place, with a crime rate of 3,205 per 10,000 people.
Well-known for the Peak District, Derbyshire offers plenty of outdoor activities, from endless hiking and biking routes to breathtaking views.

- Derbyshire
- Somerset
- Bedfordshire
- Leicestershire
- Dorset
- West Yorkshire
- Greater Manchester
- Nottinghamshire
- Hampshire
In contrast, the experts also revealed the UK’s safest destinations based on the same crime data.
North Worcestershire is named as the safest destination for UK holidaymakers with a crime rate of just 365 per 10,000 people in England and Wales by the end of 2022.

South Oxfordshire grabs second place with a total of 452 recorded crimes per 10,000 people throughout England and Wales.
