Woman gets England tattoo ahead of final – and she doesn’t even like football
Football fever has caught on just about everywhere during England's incredible Euro 2020 campaign – and now a woman who says she doesn't even watch the sport has even got her skin inked with "It's coming home 2021" ahead of the final.
Confident Courtney Harrison, 22, has thrown her support behind the Three Lions by getting the iconic slogan tattooed onto her ankle on Tuesday, July 6, a day before England's crunch semi-final against Denmark.
The phrase, taken from Baddiel and Skinner's hit song Three Lions, penned ahead of Euro '96, has become a terrace anthem for England fans over the years.
Courtney, who watched last night's famous victory with pals, says she was driving home from work when she decided to "go for it" on the "spur of the moment".
She added: "I don't even like football, I'd never watch the Premier League or anything, but when it's the Euros or the World Cup everyone gets into it don't they?
"I thought if I get this tattoo I might give the lads a bit of luck – and it seems to have worked so far.
"Watching the game last night was so tense, knowing that I have 'it's coming home' branded onto my skin made me want them to win so much more.
"I couldn't take my eyes off it, you would have thought I was an actual fan."
Courtney, who paid £40 for the artwork, said she had discussed getting an England tattoo with friends if the side eventually went on and won the tournament.
But giddy after the 4-0 thumping of Ukraine in the quarter-final, Courtney became fully gripped by football fever on Tuesday and put her money where her mouth is.
And while driving home from her job as a carer on Tuesday afternoon, she made the bold decision to get inked.

Courtney, from Workington, Cumbria, said: "I rang around a load of tattoo shops asking who could see me there and then.
"I had to lie to the artist and tell him it was for a bet because he was saying"I don't even know why I did it, it's not like I can say I was drunk or anything as an excuse, I think I'm just a bit stupid. I'll do anything for a laugh really.
"My friends think I'm mad as well, although a few of them are thinking of doing the same thing before the final."

Courtney did however say that she has a trick up her sleeve if England's charge for glory falls short on Sunday, July 11, against Italy in the Euro 2020 final.
She said: "If we lose I'm going to get the word not added between 'it's' and 'home' with a little arrow, so it will say 'it's not coming home'."
Courtney, who will watch the final with pals at the pub, added: "I'm going to look a bit silly if we don't do it now but at least I'll have a funny story to tell."
