A royal export believes the Duchess of Cambridge will play an important part in keeping the peace during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rumoured return to the UK.
Following recent reports revealing that another commemoration in celebration of the late Prince Philip will be taking place, much speculation is surrounding the comeback of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the UK.
Indeed, as Joe Little, the managing editor of Majesty, said that “there will be a memorial service for the Duke of Edinburgh”, as a result of “only 30 people” being able to attend the Prince’s funeral due to COVID-19 restrictions, “lots of people will want to pay tribute to the Duke and I think fairly soon a memorial service will be announced.”
Nevertheless, such a grandiose tribute would ultimately lead to an extended invitation to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which might cause more commotion than anticipated.
Despite newly conducted reports affirming royals were at peace with the thought of Meghan Markle bypassing Prince Philip’s funeral in April, as Buckingham Palace was “happy” avoid the so-called “circus” her presence might have caused, the former 40-year-old actress would be expected to the Duke of Edinburgh’s tribute event.
Joe Little said: “All the Royal Family will come, specifically Meghan and Harry as she didn’t attend the funeral.”
According to Australian royal expert, Daniela Elser, the inevitable family reunion will shake the family dynamic as a consequence of Meghan and Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last March.
Moreover, the royal expert believes the weight of the highly-anticipated family reunion will particularly fall on the Duchess of Cambridge’s shoulders thanks to her reputation as "an all-round team player".
In News.com.au, Daniela explained that Kate Middleton had taken the role of the moderator between Prince William and Prince Harry while they were allegedly feuding during Prince Philip’s service.
Daniela wrote: “ The last time the Cambridges and the Sussexes were in the same room, namely for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in March last year, it was an historically sour outing, all thin lips, strained expressions and curdled emotion.”
Consequently, the royal expert believes that in order to avoid cameras capturing, once again, the slightest hint of dispute among the brothers and other royals, Kate might take up the role of peacemaker for another time around.

“The pressure here could be immense given the growing urgency to get the monarchy back on track after roiling events of the last two years. (No one has forgotten about you Prince Andrew either.),” Daniela wrote.
She explained that such responsibility could fall on the Duchess, as “public displays of cordiality could well be the name of the game” as it was seen on Christmas Day in 2018, when photos of Kate and Meghan appearing together and chatting as they made their way to St Mary Magdalene Church emerged.
Daniela added: “That is why a carefully stage-managed reuniting of the former Fab Four at Philip’s memorial service, carrying with it some sort of cobbled together image of unity, is crucial.”
