The US Vice President is filmed speaking to children about “exploring the unknown” in a video to celebrate World Space Week on October 7. It appeared to the audience Kamala Harris was speaking to children with a keen interest in space but it has since been revealed they are paid actors who auditioned for the role. The children sent a monologue and three questions to ask the world leader to apply for the part.
Monterey resident Trevor Bernardino, 13, told KSBW: “Then after that, like a week later my agent called me and was like ‘Hey Trevor you booked it.”
He was joined by Derrick Brooks II, another child actor, Emily Kim, likewise a child actor, Zhoriel Tapo, a child actor and aspiring journalist who has interviewed former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Sydney Schmooke, the Daily Mail reported.
Ms Harris was also criticsed for the video by Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson.
He branded it “fake” and “fraudulent”.
Trevor noted that he was excited to meet the Vice President.
He told the radio station: “The most exciting part was definitely meeting Vice President Harris.
“She is super charismatic. She’s everything that I ever thought of her, plus more.
“She made me feel like one of her peers, and at the time I felt super important. I was talking to her face to face.”

It comes less than a month after Boris Johnson told Vice President Harris the removal of the blanket travel ban was a “great improvement”, as they met in Washington DC during his visit.
Stood at podiums in the vice president’s office in the White House complex, the Prime Minister said: “On trade, we are seeing real progress.”
He welcomed the end of the “curious ban” on imports of British beef.
He also thanked the US for the “great improvement on the previous arrangement” for allowing fully vaccinated Britons to visit again.
